Reina

Stylist & Salon Owner

Reina (she/her)  is a cutting specialist who works with the natural texture of each person’s hair to achieve beautiful and effortless styles. She began her training and career at Vidal Sassoon in San Francisco, and went on to work at some of the cities best and most creative salons. 

She has been in Brooklyn since 2007 and maintains a strong following of loyal customers due to her master level of experience and years in the business. Reina is our cutting educator, helping our staff perfect their precision cutting skills.

Phoenix

Stylist & Colorist

Phoenix Ezra Finn (they/them) has been professionally cutting and coloring hair for the last five years and specializes in curls and texture, identity affirming haircuts, and creative vivid color. As a queer and trans hairstylist with Autism, ADHD, and very curly hair, its passion lies in creating a positive and affirming experience for all of its clients, especially those who have historically felt unwelcome or uncomfortable in traditional salon spaces. Phoenix stands out for its meticulous listening skills and thoughtful holistic approach taking the time to really connect and provide authentic, validating, empowering and entirely custom services. Outside of the salon Phoenix is a burlesque, circus, and sideshow performer.

Kori

Stylist

Kori (she/her) has been doing hair since the age of 17. Her ever blossoming passion in hair has evolved from a deep interest in classic and modern barbering into the ever shifting landscape of revolutionary, radical and detail oriented queer hair styling. She invests time in creating an affirming space for each client who sits in her chair, while leading with vulnerability and a consent driven hair dressing model. When she isn't cutting hair she is flying around NYC on her bike, partaking in community events, or finding new ways to experience the fullness of life.

Helen

Stylist & Colorist

Helen (they/them) has just graduated from our rigorous master training program and excels in custom fantasy color, highlights, bleach and tones, short queer cuts and barbering.  Helens attention to detail, super friendly personality, and excellent skills have built her a large following of happy clients at Badlands.

Aimee

Stylist & Colorist

Aimee (she/her) began her hair journey in the Pacific Northwest. She has always considered herself to be an artist, and hair is her medium of choice these days. She loves challenging color work, including balayage, fantasy color, highlights, ombre, and anything else that involves "painting" hair. Previously working at a barbershop in Oregon, she spent years mastering fades, short cuts, clipper work, and pixie cuts. Aimee is a perfectionist who radiates a calming, mellow, West Coast vibe, and is honored to be our general manager and color educator.

Bola

Stylist

​Bola (she/her) is a newly trained hair stylist with a passion for creating personalized cuts for people of all identities and styles. With a focus on listening, collaboration, and attention to detail, she's all about helping clients feel seen, celebrated, and confident in their look. Outside the salon, Bola is a performance artist and devoted thrift shopper - always on the hunt for the next great statement piece or stage inspiration. Whether you're after a fresh trim, a big change, or just a welcoming chair to be yourself in, Bola is excited to grow alongside her clients, one haircut at a time.
